John and Liannes Lympne Castle wedding took place on a beautiful day in October, the sun was shinning and the views across the marshes to The English Channel were exactly what any couple could hope for, guaranteed to give the guests that feel good factor as they enjoyed pre ceremony drinks outside.
I have photographed quiet a number of weddings at this venue at varying times of the year and enjoy the changes to the gardens and views that the different seasons bring, I can see why its a popular choice with couples. Lianne had decided to get ready in one of the cottages at the venue so it was easy for me to move between her getting ready and photographing John and the guests before the ceremony. I’m probably the only person who really gets to do this so I feel its important for me to capture as much as I can so that after the event the couple get a good overview of what was happening that they didn’t get to see.
Although I had met Lianne when she booked me to be her wedding photographer at Lympne Castle, it wasn’t until the wedding day that I was introduced to John, but he was so welcoming and easy going that I felt I already new him. As a couple they couldn’t have been nicer to be around and speaking to their friends and family during the day it seemed that this wedding was a very popular decision.
Sometimes at weddings you get the feeling that if you had more time with these people and your paths crossed again you would probably become friends and I felt this here. There was such a great atmosphere and so much good humour among everyone it made it so much fun to photograph. My favourite comment coming from Liannes brother who didn’t recognise his mum as she doesn’t normally have her hair done that way or wear make up, exclaiming when he saw her at the ceremony, ‘who the ***** that!”
There and been plenty of thought put into the decoration complementing the season and the flowers and colours were beautiful, I particularly loved the ‘conkers on string’ at the tables for the children and of course adults to play with.
The only bad thing about this wedding was that John and Lianne had asked guests to make cakes rather than have a traditional wedding cake made and before I left they said to me to take some…. can you believe it, I forgot!!!
