Brighton Royal Pavillion Wedding Photography – Donna & Sharon
“We absolutely love the photos, thank you so much”
It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for a summer wedding in Brighton! Sun, sea and sooo much laughter, this wedding was one I’m so glad I got a chance to photograph.
Although I hadn’t met either Sharon or Donna in person, on the day of their wedding they made me feel as much a part of it as one of their guests. It felt like I had known them years and it meant a great deal to me that they also said “having you there was like having an additional friend”, a great compliment!
The Brighton Royal Pavillion building in which they had their ceremony is stunning. I’d never been inside before and if you get the chance, it’s well worth a visit.
Arriving in an old Beauford Bentley, which had been organised by Donna as a surprise for Sharon, they were greeted by friends and family who had just changed out of their trainers and into their ‘wedding heels’. I could see by the smiles when they stepped out the car to see everyone, that this was going to be a great day!
The ceremony was followed by some photographs of just the couple inside the Music Room and on the staircase before moving outside for their requested group photos. At this point they were reunited with their darling little Yorkshire Terrier, Meggie. If you read my blog posts you’ll know how I love a wedding that features a couples beloved furbaby!
With the group photos completed, we made our way to the reception venue in Saltdean. Without my own car and at the insistence of the brides, I squashed into the front seat of the Bentley with my cameras and off we went. Driving down to the reception venue, what better backdrop than the blue skies and aqua sea off the East Sussex coast. It doesn’t need me to say what a great time everyone had, the photos speak for themselves. People could just relax and have fun, exactly what you want at a wedding. The speeches were perfect, emotional but also very very funny and just the right length of time. Sharon even belted out a little number at the end, proving her Welsh roots beyond doubt!
Their friends and family who attended their very special day are testament to the kind of people they are; clearly very much loved. They say ‘live every moment, laugh everyday and love beyond words’, this wedding summed up those sentiments.
P.S. It was so hot, Sharon slid off the side of the cake!
