Amy and Darrens’ wedding at The Secret Garden, Mersham was such lovely event to be a part of, non stop smiles from Amy all day and a general air of genuine happiness for such loving young couple.
Beginning as I often do at the brides house there was the usual high spirits within a small whirlwind of activity while hair and make up was applied by the professionals. I love photographing this part of the day, you have a little more time to get creative and are able to witness the excitement of the bride and her bridesmaids once the finishing touches are done and she puts on her wedding dress for the first time with the completed look.
With the arrival of a very smart vintage camper van I left for The Secret Garden to arrive in plenty of time and capture some photos of the Groom his groomsmen and guests arriving. Darren looked very stylish in his well fitting grey suit and yellow tie and buttonhole, and his demeanour was one of cool apprehension, he doesn’t strike me a s someone to get ruffled even on his wedding day.
What a beautiful sunny day Amy and Darren had for their wedding and The Secret Garden as a wedding venue really lends itself to these sorts of days with it’s wonderful gardens and outdoor areas. Their ceremony was held in the gazebo with gravel pathways leading off from various points around it and room for the guests to be seated among the beautiful plants and flowers around the outside.
Before their afternoon tea reception in the coach house Amy and Darren took time out for a drive in the camper van while sipping champagne, giving themselves a little time alone to enjoy the moment. On their return it was time for a few group photos and some photos of just the two of them before going in to eat.
The rest of the day was a mix of garden games, good food, speeches and dancing, all of which I was more than happy to document. This was wedding with a relaxed and happy atmosphere which I simply believe reflects the personality of two really lovely individuals who I wish many happy years together.
