Selina and Marks wedding at St Augustines Priory, Bilsington in July was a gathering of all their loved ones, including Selina’s beautiful horse and their gorgeous dog who even had a seat at the top table. Their animals, quite rightly, are very special to them and they wanted to include them in their wedding day so an animal friendly wedding venue was a must. Their choice of St Augustines Priory with it’s on site stables, dog friendliness and stunning medieval building set in seven acres of mature gardens couldn’t have suited them better.
The start of the day saw the usual fairly chaotic scenes with bride, mum, bridesmaids and hair stylist all trying to get ready and get people ready in a room filled with bags, shoes and dresses. There was then further excitement and even less room available with the arrival of more people and the news that Selina’s horse was settled up at the stables ready for her to ride down on later in the day. There was only one slight panic before the ceremony when the veil went awol but that was eventually found and the days proceedings could get underway.
With Selina’s dad no longer alive, it was her uncle who gave her away. Naturally though her dad was very much in hers and everyones thoughts and she had a beautiful locket with his picture in it attached to her bouquet.
After the ceremony Selina slipped away up to the stables to get her horse which she then rode down to her awaiting guests, it was such fitting sight in the surroundings, on such a beautiful day as well it was just stunning, she couldn’t have looked happier. It’s these little touches that couples put into their wedding that make it so special and unique to them.
There was also Mark’s camper van which they had converted into a Photo Booth, the table decorations that all featured horses and rosette name places as well as the little coloured horse Pinatas that they had hung from the Copper beach tree, all these elements give a little insight into what’s important in their lives.
As the sun began to set the music was beginning inside and the first dance got under way to the sounds of a Rolling Stones tribute band, another little element that meant more than might first be apparent as The Rolling Stones themselves were Selina’s dads favourite band.
