If I had to sum up Kate and John’s wedding at The Secret Garden in two words it would be ‘Love & Laughter’. I’ve known Kate since I worked with her when I was still teaching and I can honestly say I have never seen her look so happy! John is fun loving and seems to be enthusiastic about everything and it is great to see two people enjoying life together to the full.
Choosing to have a small ceremony followed by afternoon tea in the Glass House meant a bit of a struggle with guest numbers as there are only so many that can be accommodated, but a party at their home on another day was going to be stage 2 of their wedding to celebrate with other friends.
I had met up with Kate and some of her friends a couple of days before the wedding to help with arranging her flowers, not something I’ve ever done before but which was actually very therapeutic! The Secret Garden give the option to prepare your own wedding table decorations and garland etc. and although none of us really knew what we were doing to start with, a little guidance from the residant florist and we actually did a pretty good job in the end. ( although I’m not sure how much was done by the florist after we’d left!)
Friends and family had flown in from America and Peru as well as various parts of the UK to celebrate with John and Kate and to see them all so happy for them both was really heart warming. Walked down the aisle by her brother, Kate looked a picture of stylish elegance in a dress that was simply perfect for her, and her daughter Lizzie who was bridesmaid put me in the mind of Audrey Hepburn!
Kate and John have wonderful personalities which shone through during the ceremony as they laughed with each other and their guests and then culminated with them both dancing their way down the aisle at the end!
It was a real privilege to have been asked to be Kate and Johns wedding photographer and I felt very fortunate to be able to witness their very special day which I’m sure is only the start of many more special times for them together.
Kate & Johns Review:-
Helen was the photographer for our wedding at The Secret Garden in Ashford this July and we couldn’t be more pleased and delighted with her unobtrusive professionalism and the truly lovely results. We had such great fun and she totally captured the emotion and joy of the day as we danced down the aisle after the ceremony! Helen took beautiful formal pictures of us and our families, as requested and they are just gorgeous but is the unexpected and unusual shots that we love and will treasure always.
We would absolutely recommend Helen to anyone considering hiring a photographer for any occasion, her pictures provide the most wonderful memories to cherish.
Thank you Helen x.
