Like a scene from ‘Lord of The Rings’, this beautiful ‘den’ in Kent surrounded by trees, provided the most perfect setting for Brogan and Sebs wedding celebration party way back in August.
They had recently married in the North of England and wanted a party down South with a rustic feel to it with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. With a real ‘back to nature’ vibe, guests arrived in wellie boots along with sleeping bags and tents to take full advantage of the location.
Such a lot of work had gone into the event, from the homemade tent canopy, supported by branches from the woods, to the tables made from long lengths of timber. The interior and exterior was beautifully decorated with greenery, flowers and candles and it was a combination of these and other details that made it really magical.
After receiving welcome drinks at the DIY bar, guests were asked to make their way down between the trees and hanging strips of William Morris fabric, resembling medieval tapestries, to the area of the main event ready to welcome Brogan and Seb.
Their arrival was greeted by plenty of cheering followed by lots of hugs, smiles and a few emotional tears as they said their hellos to family and friends.
Food was soon served in the form of a hog and lamb roast carried to the tables on large wooden stretchers and carved in front of the guests. Fed and watered it was time for the speeches, which from the two best men were particularly good and very funny, Seb did not get away lightly!
As the afternoon progressed it was soon time for guests to try their hand at any number of mini ‘workshops’ if they so chose. Around the woods were stations where they could have a go at table making, spoon whittling, screen printing T-shirts, spinning wool, ring making and even iron monger at the forge. It was such unique idea and guests really got involved in their own little projects to have as a keepsake and wonderful reminder of Brogan and Sebs special wedding celebration in the woods.
Brogan & Sebs Testimonial copied from my Google Reviews:- “This summer, Helen took the most wonderful photographs of our woodland wedding. We couldn’t have been happier with the results. I don’t think it was the easiest job since it wasn’t a very traditional wedding event but Helen was so good at mingling in with our guests and getting some wonderful shots without being at all conspicuous. And she is a really lovely, warm lady to boot – a joy to work with! I would recommend Helen for any and all event photography, especially weddings. She will capture your day perfectly.”
