Marcus & Frances Winter Wedding in Elham Church
Now the weather is at last so much warmer it seems odd to be blogging about Frances and Marcus’s winter wedding in Elham Church in Kent back in January but it was such a great wedding I didn’t want not to share it!
Starting with the Groom and his groomsmen in the pub, nerves certainly didn’t seem evident as they enjoyed a large lunch and a few drinks before the ceremony, there was just lots of laughter and plenty of banter between them all.
Frances arrived looking relaxed and beaming, and as I understand it it was her decision to get married in January because after Marcus ‘finally’ proposed she wasn’t prepared to wait until the summer! As a wedding photographer having a January wedding is always good as the majority of my work takes place between April and October and I actually love photographing winter weddings.
There was to be little hanging about after the ceremony, just time for guests to make their way out of the church into the square, grab a glass of mulled wine and a sparkler, get it lit and create a tunnel for the happy couple to run through. The sparkler exit worked perfectly and I must say this was down to the groomsmen doing a great job in getting the sparklers lit almost all at the same time!
Jumping into Marcus’s well loved old golf it was a short drive to Wootton Village Hall for the reception. Like the majority of weddings I photograph there was a short list of group photos to take which we did in the marquee reception area that was attached to the rear of the hall and a little time for a few shots of them as a couple, and then as it was here, it’s back to capturing the events of the day/evening.
This wedding was all about everyone having a good time and they certainly seemed to be doing that, there was a great atmosphere and I was able to mingle with guests as they enjoyed themselves. The first dance was performed with gusto and once finished the dance floor was full with guests enjoying the great music played by the band 29 Fingers.
