Katie & Alec had their wedding at Frittenden Church, Kent, just up the road from where they live and they really did get lucky when it came to the weather! Most couples getting married in this beautiful country of ours have to take a chance with the weather, for some it doesn’t necessarily play a big part, for others it’s cross your fingers and hope! For Katie and Alec’s wedding, I think they, as well as everyone attending, including me, were hoping for the sun to shine. With a horse drawn carriage from the church to the venue taking 50 mins followed by a walk through some beautiful woodland and a couple of fields, what was, as it turned out, to be a wonderful journey for them, could have been far less of a pleasure had we had the weather of the previous few days!
During the 6th form at school I got to know a group of people who I still see regularly and I consider very dear friends, Alec is one of those people. We meet up when we get the chance and it’s no different now than it was all those years ago when we hung around in the common room, with Alec throwing out one liners that would have us all in hysterics.
When he announced that he and Katie were getting married I couldn’t have been happier for him, they seemed perfectly suited and once Alec realised he had to allow Basil on the bed it was all going to work out beautifully! You will have probably realised that Basil is Katie’s Dalmatian, he was ring bearer at the wedding and is a huge part of Katie and now Alec’s lives, the phrase ‘love me, love my dog’ is never truer than here. Katie particularly, had stressed that she wanted photos of the day as it happened, they definitely didn’t want loads of group photos and an hour of couple portraits which suited me perfectly as I like to photograph whats real as it’s those moments that’ll bring back the memories. Hopefully you will see from the photos that the day was full of fun and laughter among a mix of relatives and friends of all ages, as well as a little romance between a very happy couple.
