What a beautiful day it turned out to be for James and Flora’s wedding in the pretty village of Brenchley in Kent. The ceremony at All Saints Church was booked for 3 pm and since Flora had decided not to have any getting ready photos it was a later than usual start for me at 2pm.
What a fantastic couple these two are, they booked me via a Skype meeting and then I met them shortly before their big day and what they were asking for in terms of photography was exactly my style. They wanted a documentary approach, capturing the atmosphere and happenings of the day and just a few of them both together, definitely not hours of posing!
So Flora turned up in a fantastic vintage Indian Ambassador car from Karma Kabs and along with her father and bridesmaids and a last minute touch of lipstick she was ready! I always love the first look a couple give each other when they see one another before the wedding ceremony and James and Flora certainly couldn’t have looked happier. This church has a lot of significance, for Flora especially, as it was where her parents and grand parents were also married, so to take her marriage vows here with them all bar her grand father in attendance was very special. Not only that but her sister Alice sang a song and her brother Harry played the mandolin during the signing of the register to make a memorable day even more so if possible.
I’m so pleased it was warm and sunny day as everyone could really enjoy the garden and the tipi reception, it’s not quite the same if it’s cold and pouring hard with rain but then every wedding is what it is and will always be a great day. On arriving at the reception we took a short walk among the beautiful blossoming apple trees for the couple photographs and then it was back to join the party.
I mingled and chatted to the guests while photographing them and what a lovely group of people, so friendly and happy which always makes my job as a photographer so much easier! It was day of sunshine, smiles, good food, funny and heartfelt speeches, dancing and finally fireworks which I love!
Thank you so much Flora and James for booking me as your wedding photographer and for your great feedback, that really is appreciate!
