Port Lympne Wedding Photographer
David and Simons Port Lympne Mansion wedding in Kent last year was without doubt one of my all time favourites that I have photographed. Not only are David and Simon two of the most genuinely friendly and lovely people, they and their friends and family also know how to have a great time!
Little did I know that after meeting them briefly at Davids sisters wedding a couple of years before that I would then be asked to photograph their big day. The setting at Port Lympne is beautiful, the grounds and rooms are so unique it’s a photographers dream.
The day of the wedding was sunny with brilliant blue skies, it was so hot fans were needed to help the grooms keep cool during their outdoor ceremony. Looking out my window right now the weather couldn’t be more different, grey and drizzle, roll on spring!
David and Simon chose to get ready together so I spent time with them as well as their families in the other rooms before the ceremony and in fact one of their getting ready photos was awarded a place in the prestigious WPJA competition so that was a nice surprise.
Ready and looking handsome in their tailored suits and bowties, and everyone seated outside, it was time for their proud mums to escort them down the aisle. The smiles and tears from the friends and family present was a clear indication of how much these two are loved and their union blessed.
The ceremony was everything it should be and more and made even more memorable with a beautiful song from one of their wedding guests, whose voice was just incredible!
To give their guests a little something extra Simon and David had then organised a safari for everyone, well you can’t really have a wedding at Port Lympne and not see the wildlife! So after a couple of drinks and a little time for guests to congratulate the happy couple it was off to the trucks. These things aren’t the most comfortable to sit in but it was fun and like me I’m sure everyone loved the experience.
The Aspinal suite where the reception was taking place looked stunning, the combination of the lighting and flowers created such a beautiful atmosphere and what a fabulous cake, a chocolate lovers ( my) dream!
The food was delicious and after the speeches it was time to relax and let the meal go down before the first dance and party began. My role as David and Simons Kent wedding photographer took me right up until the dancing got well underway, but honestly I loved every minute of the day and would do it again in a flash, sometimes it’s hard to believe its actually my job.

Simon & Davids Testimonial copied from Google Reviews:-
“Helen was our wedding photographer and we have been so exceptionally pleased with her work. We had a fun pre-shoot before the big day that got us used to being in front of the camera which in my opinion is a must. When it came to the big day, Helen arrived on time, allowed us to do everything we had to but was always there to capture the best moments both planned and un-planned. Helen’s journalistic style is fabulous and rather than a load of stilted posed shots, we have got a brilliant selection of photographic memories of our friends and family having a great time. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from Helen. Simply fantastic!”
