Sarah & Matthew’s Wedding at Little Bayham
Sarah and Matthew’s wedding at Little Bayham took place in September 2022. It was a beautiful setting and they had the sun gods smiling on them that day too!
I came to know Matthew when he had his business SEO Sauce and he helped me with my website. He’s a lovely guy and it was great to hear that he and Sarah were planning their wedding. Initially they had hoped to have the ceremony at Bayham Old Abbey but for reasons that escape me, that couldn’t happen. Luckily for them they knew the owners of a field overlooking a former stately home called ‘The Bell House’, which you can see in the photos. It looks like something out of Downton and made for a fantastic backdrop!
I began the day with Sarah getting ready at their house in Kilndown, where I met their gorgeous little dog Monty. What a little darling and very special to Matthew and Sarah. Once Sarah was ready I drove to the venue where Matthew was greeting the arriving guests. The ceremony area was set and the tables laid in the Tipis, it looked beautiful.
The ceremony area was quite a windy spot and Sarah’s hair seemed to want to blow into her face whichever way she turned but her smile never left her face. Monty seemed to be happy too, barking intermittently throughout. He’s well into his senior years though so it’s his prerogative!
Neither Sarah or Matthew enjoy having their photos taken, which is very much par for the course with couples that hire me. The majority of my time is spent photographing everybody enjoying themselves which is exactly what they wanted. We did do a few family groups but again I like to keep these fairly informal, the same with the couple portraits. With Matthew being 6ft 7″, he stood head and shoulders above almost everyone else. I heard him recounting a story of when his mum took a photo of him and his 3 sisters and managed to cut his head off. Not a mistake I was going to make!
It was clearly a day that matched Matthew and Sarah’s expectations which is all you can ask for on your wedding day. Lots of laughter, good food and plenty of memories made to look back on in their photos.
