Odo’s Barn Wedding Photography – Sarah & Craig
So 2018 is now a thing of the past and I am now looking forward to photographing some beautiful weddings in 2019! That said however, there are a number of weddings that I just must share before the season gets going.
One that immediately jumps to mind is that of Sarah and Craig who got married back in June at Odo’s Barn in Bilsington, Kent. Not a venue I’d been to before but certainly one I’d be happy to return to.
They very much wanted a very relaxed and unobtrusive approach to capturing the events of the day, which suited me to a tee. Left to my own devices I have the freedom to really see and photograph moments during the wedding that are special. When couples have no pre conceived ideas about what they want photographed they’ll get their day as it truly was and much more meaningful photos.
Odo’s Barn was the perfect wedding venue for how Sarah and Craig envisaged their day. The barn itself looked stunning, I loved the fairy lights which served as the backdrop to the ceremony. Outside guests could mingle under the shade of the weeping willows and enjoy wonderful views across acres of green fields stretching for miles. It all added to the happy and chilled atmosphere they wanted on their special day.
That’s not to say emotions weren’t running high, even a swig from the obligatory hip flask couldn’t do the trick for Craig and as Sarah walked down the aisle they were both fighting back the tears. These tears soon turned to smiles though and they couldn’t have looked more in love!
There were some fabulous moments throughout the day and well into the evening and friends and family laughed, drank, ate and then they danced! Nothing really gets a party started like a ceilidh and this was no exception. Sarah and Craig led from the front and the barn was a mass of swirling, generally out of sync, hysterical people having a brilliant time!
Just as I was packing up I noticed a bit of a noise from a group of excited friends. On closer inspection there they were passing round ‘the boot’. What better moment to finish the day than to photograph Craig draining the last little drops!
