With Christmas fast approaching and the holiday season about to begin, some guys and gals out there will undoubtedly be planning to ask… “will you marry me?” Hopefully to to get a reply of… “YES!”
What then I thought, could be useful for those couples who want to then start thinking about and planning one of the best days of their lives? Often when I meet couples and they look through my sample albums, they comment on the type of dress the bride has on, the colour scheme they chose and flowers etc.
So since I see so many variations, I figured it could be useful to show a selection of ideas that I have photographed at different weddings.
Some choices you make will be dependant on the time of year you get married. The flowers available particularly, but also the suit material and occasionally the wedding dress. No man wants to stand sweltering in his suit in the middle of summer. Likewise a bride may need a stole or cape to keep her warm in the depths of winter.
Considerations like these are all part of the fun in planning your wedding. Certain trends will appear and disappear but your wedding is all about being personal to you. This blog post is simply to fire up some ideas for you to adapt and make your own. Nothing excites me more as a wedding photographer than seeing elements of a wedding that are totally unique.
Take inspiration from the things you love to do, films you enjoy, music you listen to, what you were like as a child. Every thing that makes you both who you are you can draw from and incorporate into your wedding if you choose to do so.
Weddings are wonderful celebrations and you can enjoy yours however you want to, big or intimate, at home or abroad. Just have lots of fun doing planning it as well as on the day!
