It had been some time since Debbie and Martin had booked me to photograph their wedding so when they arrived for their pre-wedding photography at Moat park in Kent, I have to confess I wasn’t sure if I was smiling at the right couple as they made their way towards me. They had the advantage of heading towards someone with a camera bag but also admitted they’d forgotten what I looked like too so I didn’t feel so bad.
We spent about an hour together, during which, I found out that only last year Debbie had been involved in a serious car accident getting hit by a drunk driver and leaving her with some terrible injuries. The relevance of this is that it made them both realise they wanted to be together and get married sooner rather than later, so the date was fixed.
There is no doubt that they are very happy together and they spent a good deal of the photo shoot laughing, as did I, usually at one of Martins quick witted remarks! Despite me forgetting my trigger to fire an off camera flash we got some nice shots and I’m very much looking forward to photographing their wedding at ‘The Gardens’ in Yalding this month. With luck the weather will continue in this vein and they’ll be able to enjoy their ceremony outside and their wedding breakfast in the increasingly popular Tipis.
A pre wedding photography session definitely helps me get to know a couple a little better before the wedding day and hopefully it puts them at ease as to how it’ll feel being photographed. Most couples admit to feeling little nervous (not Martin though I might add!) and 99% of the time tell me they’re not photogenic, I’d like to think I’m able to prove them wrong 100% of the time!
Every wedding package I offer either has the option to add a Pre-Wedding Photography session or one included so please do get in touch via the Contact page to find out what I can offer as your wedding photographer.
